Due to some fantastic work by our dev team in collaboration with the EtherCards team — the claim of GENE tokens is done on the polygon network — even though the NFTs live on the Ethereum mainnet, the claim and tokens are on Polygon!
This means you will need Matic in your wallet on Polygon. If you don’t have any MATIC in your wallet, you can visit the faucet at https://matic.supply/ for enough to conduct one or two transactions.
This enables you to make use of your GENE in a much more gas efficient way. If you haven’t used Polygon yet. It’s very cheap to transact (<0.01c)
Things you can do with your GENE:

That’s right, if you hold your $GENE, you will be able to use it to pay for a Genome Sequencing Kit. We send you a kit, you swab your cheek, send the sample back to us and we put your genome in a secure AMD SEV-ES vault, that you and only you control. You can then earn money by allowing people to query little pieces of your genome — or you can run the built in ancestry or carrier status reports to learn about yourself.

You can now claim tokens to your wallet, or automatically donate them to GenomesDonation.eth

You can claim the tokens and they will be deposited to your Polygon wallet.
Or, you can donate your tokens to a good cause. There is still a lot to discover about our genes because so far, most people who have given permission for their DNA to be used for research are from European ancestry, making many populations from across the globe underrepresented in genomics research.
By donating your tokens, we will use them to purchase genomic sequencing kits for underrepresented populations.
