The first crypto-incentivised, auditable, anonymous, genomic study in the world

Team Genomes is extremely excited to announce the very first payment-incentivised anonymous genomic study in the world — ensuring genuine equitability and transparency for all those involved.

Following our preliminary conceptual announcement in March this year, we take immense pride in announcing that all features are now operational, enabling Genomes.io vault holders to directly receive compensation for targeted research queries directed towards their vaults.

Our dedicated development team has exerted considerable effort in migrating a substantial number of vaults to V2. As a result, we are elated to present our very first genomic research involving direct participation from vault holders.

Users receive a notification on their Genomes.io mobile app — with a notification asking for consent to query their genomes in exchange for GENE tokens on Arbitrum.

If a user rejects the query

• nothing further happens.

If a user accepts

• the query is run on their genome and the results exported (users also get a copy of their results)
• The user receives $100 of $GENE to Genomes.io account

The very first study will be around a COVID-19 severity test. Our technology will actively query user’s vaults to ascertain whether their genome expresses several genes associated with this ailment.

Users will receive the notification in their account within the next week and can choose to participate in the study.

The vault migrations will continue over the next few days so everyone can be included in this study. Our research will run for 60 days, allowing all those who want to be involved a chance to participate.

Needless to write we are extremely excited with this real-life technical step of our infrastructure. A massive thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen. This is the final step in building a fully functional ecosystem. We will now be engaging with pharmaceutical companies to allow them to query genomes (with consent) in exchange for GENE tokens.
