How to get involved? GenomesDAO Bounties Program (Season 1) — “Create your own bounty”
DAO’s are new and DAO’s are exciting. DAO’s are the future of work, but they’re still in nascent phase. We’re still learning how DAO’s work too.
GenomesDAO is announcing a new way to source and execute bounties from the community.
- If you see another DAO doing something we should be doing too, then suggest a bounty.
- If you can identify an inefficiency in some aspect of the project, then suggest a bounty.
- If you have particular skillset that aligns with the immediate needs/goals of the project, then suggest a bounty.
What is a bounty? How is a bounty different than a governance proposal? Don’t let the cowboy picture fool you. A bounty should be a finite, completable task performed by one person or a small group of people (working group).
Before suggesting a bounty, please attend a community meeting (these are held on Thursdays 12:30 PM/5:30PM EST in our discord). This gives you a chance to understand how your bounty fits in with the immediate needs/goals of the DAO. It also allows interfacing with the GenomesDAO Core team.
To submit your bounty — follow the steps below. After submitting your bounty, the GenomesDAO core team will get in contact with you.
Keep in mind that it makes sense for certain suggested bounties to be broader suggestions for the core team to perform. Other bounties make sense down the road (i.e., once we’ve hit a particular milestone).
How to create a bounty?
- Attend a community meeting (these are held on Thursdays 12:30 PM/5:30PM EST in our discord). This gives the core team a heads up about your bounty.
- Hop in the discord and go to the “🔮 suggest a bounty channel”.
2. Suggest a bounty in a similar format to below:
- ____ DAO does this, we should consider doing ___ as well. I can lead that initiative.
- I’m a (insert your profession/niche skillset here), I can do (explain clear, precise task) for GenomesDAO as a bounty.
- Can GenomesDAO do _____, I’m not able to accomplish this task, but it would be a great bounty and help push forward the project.
3. Allow the community & GenomesDAO core team to add reactions or comments to your bounty suggestion.
4. Fill out the “GenomesDAO Create your own bounty!” Form

5. Once a bounty has been suggested, GenomesDAO core team will review the bounty, then assign a reasonable budget. If you accept, then we’ll invite you to our to our bounty management system to keep track on the progress of your bounty.
How can I view the current active bounties?
You will see a read-only channel with a google doc linked to the bounties we have active.
