To celebrate the launch of The Billion Genomes Project and to help us reach our first goal of 10,000 genomes in our vaults by the end of the year, we are introducing a new points system that rewards you financially for simply uploading your DNA, exploring what we offer you and spreading the word about our company.
Our new functionality allows you to upload your genomic data from websites like 23andMe, My Heritage or Ancestry.com for free. As such, we are incentivising users to upload their vcf files with points that will be converted to $GENOME at the start of 2025.
But for those of you who are already a user, we are inviting you to start earning points straight away in our alpha launch phase — today!
If you have an account with your genome already in your vault — head to https://genomes.io/profile/incentives
You will see the first range of incentives available.
Currently you can:
- Get points for tests — If you have ran the tests — go and look at them again and your points total will update. If you haven’t run them all — go ahead and run them now.
- Get MULTIPLIER points for referring new users — Click on invite new users or “+5 more multipliers to get your invite code”
If you don’t yet have a genome in a vault, but have previously had your genome sequenced — you can upload and secure it now, for free
Uploading your DNA- Putting you in control
We are here to help you regain control of your data in a simple and secure way. To get started, follow these steps to download your raw DNA file from your testing provider:
Once you’ve downloaded your raw DNA file, you can upload it to our platform. This will create a private vault just for you, where you can manage and explore your data on your Genomes.io dashboard.

How will my points be exchanged?
On December 31st 2024, all points will be converted into $GENOME tokens. For example, if you earn 100 points and the total points awarded was 1000, you would receive 10% of the $GENOME tokens being distributed.
